Our second Kenyan coffee of the season is an AA lot from the Kii Factory in the Kirinyaga region of Kenya.
This is our second year buying coffee from the Kii factory. We really like the coffees they produce because they exemplify the fruity washed Kenyan cup profile we love.
The lot is made up of the usual Kenyan cultivars SL28, SL34, Batian and Riuru 11, and it’s wet processed, which is also typical in Kenya.
The cherries are delivered to the factory immediately after picking where they are depulped and then fermented in water before being washed a second time.
In the cup we taste sparkling acidity, fruit like sweetness and a little green tea herbality.
It’s a great all day sipper.
